Our Team

Our Team Pull Quote At National Roofing our company is our people and our philosophy is that "everyone here is a roofer." At National Roofing, no one has titles. Tom Johns, the owner of NRC, believes he and his team are all “eating off the same plate” and each employee brings a unique and intelligent viewpoint to the table. Our commitment extends internally as we strive to make our company’s work environment one of the best. Our employees have been with us an average of 12 years, and we’re the only local roofing company to offer a 401K plan to our employees. We provide excellent benefits and have the highest paid foremen in the region.

He eventually founded NRC in 1977. He has attended numerous industry schools, served as the NMRCA president 5 times, served as a board member to the NMRCA, Western States RCA, Associated General Contractors and NM Building Code Chair for Roofing numerous times. Tom looks forward to work each day because of the people he works with and the variety of projects National Roofing pursues. However, he would like to see continued growth of the company by continuing to offer new products and services.

Photo: Rip Drury Rip Drury is currently the Service Manager at National Roofing Company. His father was a roofer so needless to say he was born a roofer. Rip’s experience with the roofing industry began at the age of 11 while working with his father. At the age of 15 he was a foreman and managed large crew projects. Rip functioned as a foreman until he was 30 years old. Rip eventually went back to school and received a 2yr business certificate. He then worked for several years with Allied Building Products and Sun Metal Inc. Rip has been with National Roofing since 1998 and looks forward to being part of a company that will only continue to grow both in size and service offerings. Rip believes that National Roofing’s philosophy “everyone’s a roofer” is what makes the team the strongest and most successful team in the state.

Chris Smith

Photo: Chris SmithChris Smith has been an Estimator with National Roofing Company since 1994. He began with National Roofing simply because he moved to Albuquerque and needed a job, but has continued as a part of the team because he believes that no other company can hold up to the standards of National Roofing. Chris enjoys the diversity of work from day to day, and performing while under the pressure of getting an estimate right, so the roofing crews can have more work. Chris would like to see National Roofing grow by getting into new markets, services, and products, and building stronger relationships with their manufacturers.

Don McAneney

Don McAneney is currently the Service Manager at National Roofing. Don has been with National Roofing for 15 years. He feels that being outdoors is only a small benefit to his job compared to working with such a high caliber team. During this time he has seen the company climb to it’s peak ability and hopes to see it continue to grow steadily.

Ed MacFarlane

Photo: Ed MacFarlane Ed MacFarlane is a Project Manager at National Roofing. His career in the roofing industry began in the late 1980’s working on a commercial crew, which taught him the ins and outs of roofing. What Ed most enjoys about his job is getting up early, visiting job sites, and completing a roof that is done right. His experience brought him to National Roofing in 1994. He recalls the time when National Roofing had only a few trucks, no cranes and limited equipment and sees how complete and innovative it is today. Ed knows that today’s reality is proof that the sky is the limit when it comes to National Roofing.
